That's pretty standard. You have to lower your graphics settings.
(GFH)Anomaly
That's interesting, because I play mine at 1280x1024x32 with all graphics settings all the way up (except for shadow detail, because, it's distracting and a bit gay...about halfway up tends to look more believable). Anyway, at these settings, everything is QUITE smooth for me on my T-Bird 1.2GHz, GeForce2 GTS/64M. Unless, of course, your GF2 only has 32M of RAM, in which case, I'm thinking you would have some problems...

I've got the same setup as Birdmad - don't have his problem.
Have a 1.2 AMD, GForce2, 128MB...
The graphics for me have run smoothly...that is whenever I can actually get into a game. My troubles have been in the connection/lag area. I usually get timed out, or things get very laggy for me in game, and usually, I can't even get connected to a server. Oh well, at least the training missions are cool...
Maybe for those of us who don't have the luxury of a computer that can run tribes (let alone much else ) can you guys tell me how the game is?

And who put in this cannabis (or atleast look-alike) graphic?
and where's my Grand Funk Highway tag? hehe.

So Widow, if you had a 1Gig processor would that help?
and/or
New video card?
I thought this game was made for high end and low end systems

Voodoo issues asside (the developers may or may not be able to tweak performance) this game REQUIRES heafty horsepower. From what I have gleened if you do not have at least an 800Mhz processor you may as well not try to play. Maybe if they tweak the code some.
Basicaly, yes if I had a better processor I may be able to play the game. But I have also read reports that people with Voodoo 5's are getting crappy performance on 1.3Ghz machines but others are posting good performance on 800Mhz with Voodoo 5's so who knows. I would be happy to have ANY performance because man, I am at a standstill with more than 10 people on a given map much less the 30+ this game was designed for.
Grr, oh well sucks to be me. Maybe next paycheck I can slap together a faster machine but I don't realy expect to be able to afford upgrading for a few months.
Whoever said the game was designed for high AND low end systems must have been a marketing person because the game was designed for high end systems obviously.

Widow...would that be a PIII or PIIII now you need
[AK]NeverRetreat
Widow, you'd probably get more mileage out of a GF2MX than a new CPU, IMHO. They're pretty cheap (saw them as low as $65 on Pricewatch and would make a nice replacement for your TNT2...

NR, Right now I have a PIII 500Mhz (the maximum my motherboard will handle). I just need more horsepower all together. I already decided that my next upgrade will be an AMD. This last weekend I priced out the parts I need, AMD 1.2GHz, Abit MB, 256M ram (at only $96 for a 256M stick now is the time for RAM) for around $550. I may (big may) be able to afford that next paycheck if I am lucky.
Zorro, I am sticking with the Voodoo 5 because I refuse to think that it is "crap". It is a pretty good card, not the "best" but pretty good and in all other applications runs faster than the TnT2 (I am talking D3D and OpenGL apps, not Glide since that is not a fair comparison) and I can't realy afford to spend a lot of money. 'Sides when I buy my next video card I want it to be at least a Geoforce 3 but we will see. Believe it or not I do not have a credit card, never had never will, and do all purchaces with cash (or debit card). This does limit my on-line purchace ability because some vendors will not accept anything but a true credit card, that is changing and that is not a big limitation any more. I also can not recieve packages at home, no one home to pick them up durring the day and anything left outside is stolen instantly (my neighborhood is the one a cop was killed at a couple weeks ago 2 or 3 blocks from my front door) and I take the bus now so getting stuff delivered to work is a big hastle. I am pretty much stuck with what I gots for now I think.
peace,

Maybe you should invest in Kevlar...j/k
Which Abit MB are you spec'g out?
Which 1.3Ghz processor you spec'g out?
Might be able to assist.
