To all the DVD collectors out there

I am currently looking for a DVD tower to hold 200+ dvds. I don't understand all these small ones that hold only around 50. Who only has 50 dvds Anyway, any seggestions would be great. Thanks.

I don't actually have 200 dvds yet, but I plan to someday, so I thought I would think ahead and get something that will work for a long time.

What's really funny is that you're going to have to pick up HD DVDs of everything you've bought so far... Ain't technology great!?

I store my DVDs on my bed so I can writhe around on them...

Seriously though, I need to come up with a rack for 'em too. I'm running out of space.

Squidly has Bring It On in his collection? Says volumes about his taste in movies and women.

The fact that I have seen it too speaks volumes of mine :P

"Bring it on" is a wonderful film on so many levels. Especially the bikini car-wash level.

I doubt that we will have to repurchase anything - let alone "everything".

Much in the same way current DVD players play CDs, the new format DVD players will undoubtably allow you to play older DVDs.

So yes, to answer your question - technology is great.

But, really, Squid, how many VHS tapes do you still have lying around these days? Surely it's not required to update, but how many people are going to be able to resist the "Super Deluxe Edition of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy on HD DVD", et al?

I didn't know what bring it on was untill my girlfriend told me its her favorite movie and I had to watch it with her. Shes a cheerleader for my school and I think thats why she likes it so much. Anyway, its a good movie :P

I saw something about a new generation of DVD/ DVD players that will use a blue laser instead of the red one, because the blue is a smaller wavelength and will enable a DVD to hold 6 times a much information (27 gigs I think). Toshiba wants to stick with a red laser and use compression for its players.
It kinda looks like another VHS vs Betamax thing.

I may re-buy some of my DVDs, if the new format offers truly unique and different material. But I certainly won't come close to rebuying all of them...

Also, the difference between the new format and DVD won't be the same as the difference between DVD and VHS...

Nah, they'll soon have dual mode players (one player plays everything.)
As Z said, technology is a wonderful thing. Two different laser types? Build a player with both.

Hmm old thread but I just bought a new storage tower that I thought was pretty neat for the price.

    http://www.sauder.com/productpage.as...%2FV%5FStorage

Not the best furniture in the world but I found this rack on sale for $30.00. They have some better racks with doors that close. Just check out the A/V storage section.
