AK BF1942 Server now TWL-Compliant
I made a couple of changes to the server config today to make it TWL-compliant, according to the currently posted rules for the BF1942 Conquest ladder.
Time Limit: 30 minutes (was unlimited)
Ticket Ratio: 100% (was 200%)
Kick Back: off (was on)
The only thing I didn't change was the auto-balance option, which I like for pub play (especially since I can't easily change people's teams currently). Anyway, I thought I would let you know...

What is kickback?
Kickback is a new thing to help prevent tk'ing... If you inflict dmg to someone on your team, that damage goes back to you as well... So, if you kill someone, you're probably dead too... I think it's a cool thing, but I've become annoyed by one person too many being in the wrong place while I pummel a base with B-17 bombs... Sucks...

When it's open to the public, I'm generally playing as an admin... this means that I can preserve the realism and get rid of the tk's administratively (and often permanently). IMHO, FF being off doesn't deal well with smacktards... admin.kick/banplayer does a nice job there...

Cool, it's your server do with it as you will. When I am "pubbing" as Figaro I tend to look for FF OFF servers. I use the in game browser and bring up the server info screen to make sure Soldier and Vehicle FF is OFF, and also to make sure that it is not some p450 trying to run 32 players since the browser now shows CPU speed as well.
FF may not be realistic but I am used to it and then you do not have to deal with the smacktards at all. That is just me though, I tend to avoid the idiots (except the one in my chair). The best way online I have found to avoid the idiots is not to play on FF ON servers except from time to time... if an admin is on.
One personal problem I have with the FF ON servers is if I make a mistake and mistakes happen to everyone I get labled a TK and have some idiot cussing at me for killing him. Yeah, like he never tossed a grenade at a tank to have it end up somewhere else. Or drop a bomb and not know your teamates were down there. Mistakes happen. I tend to ignore getting TKed (as I said mistakes happen) but when the same person keeps doing it then you get a bit peeved, a real TKer is easy to spot.
