    Question New Voice Comm Program...

I'm batting around the idea of using a different voice comm program since BF1942 competition is soon approaching... I totally veto Roger Wilco and I'm about 95% positive that I want to throw TeamSound into the dust bin... I only know of a couple of other options, but one that's really piqued my interest is TeamSpeak (www.teamspeak.org). It's totally free (and might even be GPL'd, but I haven't read the license, so I don't know for sure) and it has Linux and Windows servers and clients. Additionally, it's actively developed with an RTM version of the 2.0 software just around the corner. This is all good news in my book. What do you guys think?

Bribo and I will both vouch for Team Speak 2.0. We've used it for months with Void under very heavy load in TWL competition conditions and it works *great*.

    GREAT GREAT GREAT.

I don't use voice communications software (We've been over this ), but I know everyone on our sim racing group who is playing BF1942 is using Team Speak and say it works very well.

I'm all over this. There's now a TeamSpeak server running on the same IP as the FTP server...check the Ultima Ratio Regum forum for all the details. This replaces the TeamSound server I had been running. Also, the latest client is available for download from the FTP server.

Roger Wilco - limited multi-channel support, poor voice quality
TeamSound - buggy as hell, can't hear people some of the time

TeamSpeak 2.0 - GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!

I'll check it out! If its an improvement on RW voice quality that would be a big help.
