    Great Mornings...

    Gotta love them...

5:30 AM - Woken up to the wonderful screech of a Carbon Dioxide alarm. The alarm is 3 days old, picked it up this weekend. It's just a battery powered one. (My mistake #1). I hit the test/silence button. It stops, then starts flashing the code for "replace unit" indicating a problem with the sensor itself. We have an AC CO detector as well so I took that downstairs, plugged it in around the furnace, hot water tank, upstairs around the stove and kitchen with no detection. I'm going to go buy a couple new AC CO detectors after work and return the 2 battery powered ones.

Get to work.. the member coin machine threw up all over itself... $3K in coin which is normally sorted into Fed bags is all spilled on the inside of the machines 'vault'. So I have fun getting that cleaned up, emptied, etc..

Check my mailbox, my corporate credit card statement is there. 3 charges I can't identify... I call them up. 2 porn sites and 1 Gateway Accessory Store for $463.20 for an HP Jornada. Fill out all the wonderful paperwork to block, close, and report fraudulent transactions.

    And it's only Tuesday!!

Sounds like fun. Today we spectacularly failed to install a new pilot register, despite the fact we have it in pilot in two stores and it works fine there. Needless to say the register in question works just dandy in our lab.

Last time I went to Mexico I came back to about $3K of fraudlent charges on my credit card. As long as you didn't lose the card, my bank is pretty cool about it.

Our damned fire alarm went off in the dorms at 5 this morning, we had to all go outside... but in protest I slept through my 9 o'clock class. I'll show them what scholarship students demand

Back at UT, it was a regular occurance for the fire alarm to sound at 3-4AM in Massey Hall. See, in Tennessee, it's against the law to have sorority houses, because according to Tennessee code (and this applies to most southern states, really) any building in which 5 or more females cohabitate is regarded to be a brothel... So, that meant that all our greek sisters were heppily thrown into the resident hall directly next to the only all-male dorm on campus, Greve Hall, which happened to be where yours truly resided. Unfortunately, my room didn't face the Massey side (or the "TnA Side" as it was commonly referred to), so when the alarms would...ahem...go off, we'd all run over to the other side of the dorm and watch the honeys file out in their "jammies". The other nice aspect of Massey was that many of the residents were fairly exhibitionistic (is that a word), so there were many times when one could gaze out across the courtyard and watch coeds flaunt their wares... Ah... college...
