    Cash Wednesday Practice/Thursday Scrim

Good job by everyone who attended practice last night. I thought things went pretty smoothly from an organizational standpoint. Most people were on teamspeak, and found their way to the correct channels. Once we get our private 1942 forum up, we'll be able to talk more freely about specific strategies that we employed and such.

Regarding tonight's scrim, I'm in the dark at this point as to whether or not it's still a "go". I've been emailing the "Kindread"'s leadership the last two days and haven't gotten a response.

I'll keep everyone apprised in this forum as to the latest on this.

In the meantime, I'll continue to seek out other teams to scrim with. In time I hope to have several regular scrim partners.

I concur. Great practice. Best fun I've had in BF1942 to date. Thanks for setting up the TeamSpeak channels, Beast. Having the two channels really made the practice great.

I'm a definite "No Go" for tonight.... sorry.

Thanks for hosting last night. Yes, it was great fun and useful to have a dry run like that. I think good productive practices will really enhance the team.

I had a great time. I'd be interested what the guys on the other team thought?

StitchJones, Rocks and Choozoo all told me they had a great time. Franks&Beans said he was getting frustrated because he was assigned a role only to have other players take that role. He was also frustrated at the lack of air power their tem had. Zorro ruled the skies!

If Kindread is a no-show are we still going to have a mini-practice tonight?

I was talking to Armada about the fact it seems we don't have enough 'flyers' on the team. Z was dominant most of the time and made it very difficult for us to make any maneuvers and really threw off our attack and defensive plans.

I haven't flown much since BF1942 doesn't recognize my HOTAS but if we need another fly boy... I'll go out and buy a plain joystick to use and start practicing.

Go out and buy a joystick and practice flying. We need lots of folks who can do lots of different things if need be (due to player absence.)

I'll go and pick one up this weekend. I have a nice 3 day weekend coming up so hopefully I can get some practice in.

You need to make sure that all of them are on teamspeak. I don't think Rocks was, although I could be mistaken.

    What role was F&B assigned?

If the scrim doesn't come off, yes we'll practice tonight.

I thought I read that BF1942 does use the HOTAS.

I am suprised by the number of people I have talked to that did not know you have to map the joystick in the control options of the game to use it. A number of people were thinking that games that use the joystick just do so by default.

If you have not done it go into the options->controls->select the Air tab and start maping the joystick.

I could be wrong and the Hotas just does not work with it but I thought I read posts on other boards that people were using it.

Rocks was not on but said he would try to get on next time. He joined late anyways. I'm sending out an email tonight to these guys letting them all know that if they fill out an application and become "official" AK recruits then they are eligible to play in our matches. I know at least 2 of them are interested in match play.

I had a great time playing last night even though our team didn't do too well. I am really enjoying these practices.

We'll be switching up the squads during practices. I'm going to try playing with and against all of you to get a feel for where best to use you.

    Widowmaker,

I have a Saitek USB HOTAS. Whenever I go to set up the joystick in the game... they all try to map the same thing. In other words, no matter what direction I attempt to move the stick or throttle, it tries and maps the same thing in all of them no matter which option I'm trying to configure.

It works fine in Windows when I configure it, etc but it won't work in BF1942.
