    Multimedia Controller Issue

Alright, I just bought Win XP Home Edition. Everything is installed properly except when I go into my Device Manager it says in Other Devices that a Multimedia Controller is not installed properly. Unfortunately, I have no idea what this Multimedia Controller is so I don't know what driver is needed, nor, what this Controller is. Can someone help me out?

Sounds like you need to install soundcard drivers.

I'll give that a try later tonight. I had sound coming out of my speakers so I didn't think that was the problem but the sound is 'onboard' so maybe it isn't totally installed properly. Thanks!

Yeah, often times you'll get sound because XP installs a "best fit" that gets some of your stuff working. But you'll still have the "!" on some components because the driver being used isn't the bonafide one that's needed.

My audigy card has a bunch of other crap that it does besides pump sound, so I was getting the "!" until I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Creative.

Well, I tried during lunch to get the right driver off the motherboard CD but nothing was being accepted. I think I downloaded the driver online before though (it's been awhile since I reformatted). I'll check tonight again. BF:1942 sounded pretty cool though. The guns and and vehicles all sounded more realistic, unfortunately, I started laughing once I heard "The enemy is advancing!". Why? Well, I couldn't understand what was said until I read the text on the upper-lefthand corner. What I heard was chipmunk talk. I was laughing so hard at all the calls for reinforcements and stuff that I couldn't shoot
