Anyone else picked up Freelancer yet?

I've been messing around with it some more and it is a pretty good game. More options for customizing the controls would be good (inverting mouse would be nice). But on the whole it is a good game. I got tired of the storyline in the single player game so went on-line to play on some peoples servers and just sort of ran trade goods between systems and have aquired a lot of cash and had fun avoiding pirates in my freighter.

I've been playing on the "Elite" server (30 players low ping and not much lag even with a full 30 players on). My character name on that server is Dobbs.

Freelancer is what Earth and Beyond should have been. If you are looking for an MMORPG fix and don't want to commit to one give a try at Freelancer. Hopefuly they will fix the control options in a patch.

I'm wowed by how all the AI's fly around on their own missions. I joined a friendly convoy just for the heck of it, and they will actually make runs between planets and fight off random pirates on their own.

Agreeded, I will download TS server tomorrow and then we are sure to have a TS server available to us always. Bummer I missing the chance tonight!

Just traded in C&C Generals and Splinter Cell for Freelancer. Played it for 6 hours straight. Addicted. Great game ... the flight interface is nowhere near as cumbersome as I imagined. With my Logitech Marble, it's a breeze to fly the ship.

Up to a heavy fighter now ... may switch back to a Rhino for the turret capacity.

How's everyone else doing?

I'm hanging out with the blood dragons in the big asteriod field.

Call me a geek, but I think the coolest part of the game is listening to the AIs talking to each other about where they are going.

I'm still up for a multiplayer session. Maybe this weekend if it rains?

Well, I just finished the single player mission. Really cool story.

However, I have only just begun the multiplayer. Right now I have a Liberty Heavy Fighter and am easy pickings for anyone. There seem to be a number of hacks out there, which is upsetting. That can ruin a game really quickly, as soon as a horde of immortal pre-adolescent pubes descend on the servers. The bad grammer alone is horrifying when that happens.

There appears to be a lot of cheating in the game. One server I logged into said "If you feel you must cheat, please only use the money cheats". Sounds a lot like Diablo.
