Beryl Certs

If we are all going to get on together, we may as well get our certifications planned out. If everyone posts what they have, then we can see what we need.


I have three to spend and was thinking engineer or medic, but I wanted to see what else people had. It looks like you can't have too many MAXs.

I'll also have a character that is Heavy Armor and damage dealer.. I'll keep them leveled up and pull them out accordingly.

I'm playing an anti-vehicular Vanu over on one of the other servers. Might go a similar route with the NC on Beryl.

When I can join the NC on that server I'll be going for the Falcon (AV) MAX. Talk about a walking tank.

Might also get a basalisk for fun.

We will want people to be the job roles too. Maximum hacker certs will be useful. I was in a squad the other night and after hacking the main control pannel our hacker went out and hacked most or all of the equipment terminals and vehicle pads and med consoles while the rest of us defended. I pulled up a lightning to defend one of the main entrances and we were all able to buy at all stations. Came in handy when our, and the enemy, reinforcements arived. I think owning all the equipment terminals and vehicle pads won us that base.

Medic certs speak for themselves. With max med certs you can res people before they have to spawn back at a base. Get a medium assault kit and you are a battle cleric, reinforced armor should be considered as well.

Egineer certs if only to repair armor and vehicles. Reinforced armor is a help here since you have two rifle slots so you can cary the big repair gun for vehicles and stations. You can also quick swap weapons by right clicking on them, that was in one of the last few patches. Max engineer certs you can place mines, mini-turrets (which are a PAIN when they are well placed), and put up motion sensors to detect those pesky invisible infiltrators.

Each job comes in handy as we all know.

Also, something many people don't know. When taking bases on a continent each one does have a different effect on what the other stations can do on the continent. Amp stations reduce the AMP cost of equipment at all you bases on the continent. AMP levels are shown as a percentage on the map as well as a gauge on a big pillar in each base. When it runs out the base will go neutral, you can not buy there and the hack time for neutral bases is less. It's AMP supply seems to go up fast too. So always remember to supply bases if you need to. Any ground vehicle cert gives access to ANT supply vehicles, you do get experience for unloading nano's to a base but you are defenseless.

Squid and I were a 2-man squad last night. We played on the Citreen (sp?) server in the NC. I'm developing a vehicle specialist there.

We played for about 2 hours. What a blast!

Yeah, unfortunately they don't let you delete characters and my Beryl guy is a Vanu. As soon as I can delete I'll move back over there. In the meantime I'm on Citrene with Bribo... We're both New Conglo. I've got Medium and ANT certs, which mean that I can refuel bases and deploy mobile spawn point stations. Refueling bases is decidedly non-combat, but the exp points you get when those puppies unload their cargo really adds up. It's like 20 exp 20 exp 20 exp 20 exp ding ding ding ding... sort of like watching a gas pump fill your car...lol. I'll level up that way and then train in Galaxy driving and hacking.

Once I switch to Beryl, I'll take the same path.

The ANT is the fuel truck, the AMS is the mobile spawn point. I'm fairly sure they are different certs.

I joined a squad of seemingly experienced players on Beryl and it seemed like unless they were a driver or pilot, a hacker or some other specialist, they were a MAX.

What's the biggest vehicle that will fit in a Galaxy? Someone should get certified in that.

If we have a shortage of MAXs I'll forget some stuff and pick up some MAX certs. Otherwise I was going to try being an engineer/turret farmer if someone else was a medic.

I'm ANT certified, but I am able to drive the AMS as well. Both are available to purchase, and I have purchased and driven both.

I am not sure whether or not this is a bug.

I have read that a Galaxy can carry an ANT, and I should have Galaxy certs before long.

I've been playing as a Vanu on Cytreen, and the NC on Beryl. I'm going to jump on TS tonite (using Solarwolfs server if ours is still down). Maybe a few of us can meet up somewhere. Its a shame we're scattered throughout the empires and can't delete characters. I still find the game to be very much fun, however. It'll be a real hoot once we get organized.

Agreed. If we could delete characters I'd gladly jump ship so we could all get onto one side.

I'll have to try that out. To be honest, I haven't driven either outside of training.

About ANT certs, I shall quote myself from above...

Any ground vehicle cert gives access to ANT supply vehicles, you do get experience for unloading nano's to a base but you are defenseless.

This means that if you have any ground vehicle certification, any, you can get an ANT at any ground vehicle station. This is not a bug, it is intended.

I am not sure what all can be loaded in a galaxy. If the Vangaurd can we should have one or two of those. They are the heavy tanks and are only effective if multi crewed, the NC vangaurd takes a driver and gunner, the TR takes a driver and two gunners. I know the one man tank, the Lightning, can not be loaded in a galaxy which is odd because the manual used to say it could, I would have to check it again.

I am on the NC team on the Cytreen server. In fact I am battle rank 6 or so there with certs in medium assault and the AV MAX. I have 3 cert points right now that I am not sure what to do with yet. Name of main character is Reynark.

You can forget cert points at stations to free them up for re-assigning to something else you may want. Right now you get a free change once, you can release cert points and re-assign them imediately. After that every time you forget a cert it takes 24 real life hours before you can use the points for another cert.

Well heck, I guess I'll unlearn my Ant and learn some other ground vehicle, seeing as how that will automatically give me ANT certification.

They should remove ANT certification from the skill tree.
