Is Planetside still worth trying?

I've got Planetside installed, but have never played it. It seems like most of AK has gotten bored with it, but I was thinking of giving it a try. Would I be wasting my time?

Is it fairly fun to play as a single player online? And, which subscription would you recommend if I do get into it?

As an aside, it said on the box that it had a one week subscription included, which turned out to be total BS, so I've been resisting giving them any of my money.

I like Planetside, but haven't been playing too much mainly because my game time is limited due to graduate course work, but also because most of the AK quit playing and it was more fun when the people around are people you play with regularly. I am subscribed until December and I'll probably cancel then.

I like several of the game changes they have made recently and think they are going in the right direction with the game, but they need to do a better job on their 'patches' that create new bugs and problems.

If I were you, and wanted to try it, I'd go one month only at this point and see if you like it or not.

NO, it is not worth it. It's a 50$ door stop for me now. I had fun with the Beta but not with the retail. Cause the Beta was free
