Server Patched (1.6)

The server has been patched to 1.6, so feel free to patch your clients. DC in 1.6 is a little buggy on the client side, so you will need to download this file and unzip it in your /Mods/DesertCombat/Archives/ directory AFTER backing up the old menu.rfa file.

Looks like I'll need to wait until the official DC patch this Friday. I cannot connect to our AK server without it crashing to my desktop. I tried getting into another regular and SW server and had no problems.

Good news re: DC .7 for Ab and others from DesertCombat.org:

Remember, 0.7 will not be featuring any new content, but will be a pure tweak/optimization patch so more people can enjoy DC without the slideshow.

Rubbing my hands in anticipation. BTW, there won't be any practices this week since so many of us are having patch problems.

I helped Pops with a problem he was having connecting.... Be sure you have enabled PunkBuster. The switch is found under Multiplayer / Internet (on the bottom of the window). Also, you may need to configure your firewall because the server side of PunkBuster queries your PC and your firewall may be blocking that connection request... I know Zone Alarm Pro did on my end.

Also, on Sunday morning no one could connect, however I was able to change the map and that seemed to solve the problem.

The weird part is that we all played saturday night with no issues at all on the new patch. I have also played some last night on other servers than our own. Oh well. Raven shield is loaded and ready to go.

My symptom:

Map loading (Basrah Nights), get's to 100%, immediate crash to desktop.

I have Punkbuster installed and activated. I can attach to a SW server running Punkbuster without any problems (ruling out firewall/router issues).

I'll try again tonight.
