Yep, they are insane. At least the Mac fanatics I have known are. I know some Mac users that just think of it as another type of PC. But some have what I would call a real strange attraction to their Mac and real hatred for anything Windows PC related. I have even had one fanatic aquaintence of mine tell me with a straight face that every game avaiable for the PC was available for the Mac... and we were at CompUSA as I was pointing to the PC game area that dwarfed the entire Mac section, hardware and software, in the store.

He got mad and told me I didn't know anything. CompUSA was just biased against Macs like most places are so don't cary much Mac stuff due to their agenda. I was dumbstruck by that. And he realy believed it.

Anyway here is an interesting story about some strange Mac fanatics reaction to a joke posted on the internet.

I love "computers". The OS doesn't really matter to me as long as it's not WindowsME because for some reason, Norton doesn't automatically remove the OS as a virus.

I love MAC, Windows, and *nix based OS and every one has advantages and disadvantages. We got rid of my wife's iBook... but I would love to have a new system with OS X. It's a wonderful OS.

BTW.. there are MANY games for the MAC that most in the PC only camp are not aware of. Hell, I didn't even realize Papyrus NASCAR Racing 2003 or Halo was available for the MAC and the mods we make at The Pits can be made to work on the MAC as well with very little tweaking.

I think those who get upset over MAC addicts opinions just suffer from hard drive envy.
Remember, many in the MAC camp are "artists", so they are bound to be a little on the "fruity" side!

My problem is that there is usualy a 6 month to 1 year delay in the Mac game publishing. When a cool game comes out that everyone else in your clan/office/neighborhood is playing do you really want to wait a year before you can play as well.

IMO, Jobs ought to cut some deals with these game publishing companies to start getting these games to have simultaneous release dates for the Mac as well as the PC. I think he's start to win many more of the gamer crowd over to Macs.

Bribo... the problem is that the "PC" gaming market is declining. 2003 sales numbers were off quite significantly. Now, some of it was due to a lack of overly compelling games.. but a greater element of that is due to the growth of the console market. Personally, I have little love for the console and haven't owned one since the original SEGA Genesis. I prefer PC based gaming. But if the overall "PC" market is shrinking, just imagine about 3%-5% of those numbers for the MAC and try to justify the development/porting cost for developers. I'm not sure the economics are there.
