I made my mistake with services because XP Service Pack 2 adds a number of other services not listed in standard tweak guides. One of the ones I disabled made it impossible for me to access programs on my computer (including the services.msc file). I have gone back to XP Service Pack 1, and applied the tweaks from Black Viper, which are the ones I was using before.
