    New PC Time

I was able to get enough cash together to build a new PC. I should have all the parts by Thrusday hopefully. I got all my parts from www.newegg.com They have a great track record and a few of the guys here have bought stuff from them. So I felt very safe picking them.
    Here is what I ordered.

    1 P4 2.8Ghz 800mhz 478p/1mb (yes it has 1mb cache)
1 ASUS P4P800 Deluxe (I love Asus boards!)
2 512mb PC3200 Memory Modules (Dual Channel DDR baby!)
1 WD 74Gb 10K 8mb Raptor SATA Drive (The best drive out there)
1 Enermax 420w Noisetaker Powersupply (To power all my Fans)
1 Chieftec Blue Server w/window ATX Case (Alienware style case)
1 Sony 1.44mb Floppy drive (yippee)

I have the other parts to complete it. I have a DVD burner, and a ATI 9600XT to put into it. I can hardly wait to turn all the details up to High on BFV!!

Sorry Rocks, I know I let you down by not getting a AMD64. But I just can't sway from Intel. I fear the dark side.

I was going to make it my super VMware Linux server. But I will sell parts for cash if there is a interest. I'll put a list together of what I currently have running.

Make sure you get a new mousepad for that new system.

Dont worry about newegg. They are a great site. Only place I buy from.. I just built a company comp from scrach and all parts came from newegg. Had everything in 2 days and had 0 problems. We bought 2 74g raptors and I was just amazed at how fast those bad boys are. Installed on a Asus p4800 e deluxe. I think it only took 11 minutes to fully install xp and im sure that was limited to the cd rom speed. Incredibly fast dude. Your going to love it.. Wish I had the money for a few raptors

WOW, that's cool that you got most of the same parts! I also found that you own that busty mousepad fight club mouse pad
the Raptor hard-drives have a 20$ or 50$ rebate on them right now. Did you look to see if you qualify for it? that would be a extra 50$ in your pocket..

lol How did you get a pic of my custom mouse pad..

I just checked and I bought everything on 02/25/2004 Rebate started on 3/10/04. You had my hopes up there for a minute. Isnt that how it always works out. You buy something and the next time you see it, its ALLWAYS cheaper....

New Egg really is the deal. I've been slowly buying parts for my new computer, waiting for sales and rebate offers, and I've got to say, New Egg is the best place to shop. Quick, reliable, and great prices.

nice system specs dood! Should be a rockin rig. BFV looks waaay cool at highest details but brings any card on the market to its knees, even my highly overclocked FX5900. Just a heads up so yah dont get overly disappointed. Overclocking that 9600 to the max would help im sure. otherwise your system should be a smoker! its just that BFV is very tough on the vid.

NV40 and RV420 coming soon! Mid april or so.

True, I won't get my hopes up too high for BFV, that 3D engine is a strange one. But as far as access time that Raptor drive is gonna Smoke!

Yes, that should shave at least 4 seconds off of your map loading time.

It seems to me that the two primary drivers for BFV performance are CPU and system memory.

Far Cry is a different matter altogether.

Yeah I'm still looking for a Jungle 3D chip to handle it.

You could have had an AMD 64 3400+ for what you paid for the P4!!! You must be rolling in the dough!
