I thought about this awhile, and I'm still not sure what your point is.

That's the basis of instituitionalization. Not that they wouldn't ever want it, but are so unaccustomed to it that they wouldn't know what to do with it, right now. Future is different. So yes, I agree with you.

And yeah, I think the overwhelming majority of the world wants to live like we do, even if they might outwardly deny it.
