Thread: Why "militants" and not "terrorists"?

    Just saw on CNN that Spielberg is making a movie about the Munich Olympics, where the Paleostinian terrorists murdered a bunch of innocent athletes.

    My question is ... why do CNN and most other news organizations refer to Palestinian terrorists as "militants?" See quote below.

    "Spielberg plans to start production in June and is eyeing actor Ben Kingsley for a role in the upcoming drama, which will chronicle the Summer Games marred by the kidnapping and slaying of Israeli athletes by Palestinian militants, a DreamWorks studio spokeswoman said Wednesday."

    Anyone who intentionally targets and murders civilians for political gain is a TERRORIST, plain and simple. No need to gloss it over. Calling a Paleostinian splodeydope (suicide bomber) a militant is giving the creature entirely too much respect.
