I remeber seeing this the first time, wasn't it called Desert Combat ? hehehe all kidding aside I hope EA steps up to the plate and listens to all the complaints and concerns generated by BF1942,DC and BFV to put together a new game thats worth our hard earned dollars.
I had heard this was going to be (also?) hitting the Ps2. If thats the case and they pretty much just port it to pc, then it'll be crappage.
But, hopefully I can be wrong about this, for a 'lil change.
Well the Ps2 version in the worx is a different one me thinks, it is platform specific from what i've heard...
I spoke with Frank Delise for a while at GDC04', and his team @ Trauma Studios is now contracted for big $$ with Dice to do everything from Hardline Game Development Input, to Advanced Pixel shader software like RTzen...I hope they have a hand in this project, they really deserve it....It will be a GREAT game if so.....
BTW, did you know that...
Frank DeLise of Trauma Studios is ALSO VP of Design and Product Management for RTzen....
"Mr. DeLise was previously Product Manager for 3D Studio Max and was instrumental in the design and management of 3D Studio Max versions 2–5. He holds two patents (pending) in the field of 3D computer graphics and animation"
Heck of a nice dude too....

I'm a bit disappointed...those screenies look like the Urban Siege map for Desert Combat, with slightly improved graphics.
EA Announcement.

And yet another news blip by 1up.
I dunno man, those graphics look pretty sweet to me. I know I'll be buying it.
I think the screenshots look damned good.
I buy everything!

The graphics do look sweet, and I probably will be buying it. It just takes more than a few new maps and updated graphics to impress me. Give me at least a couple of new features--maybe the ability to peek around corners a la Raven Shield, or destructible objects to take cover behind. This is my gripe with sequels, sort of like Stitch and his release dates.
Strangely enough, I hardly ever use the "lean" feature in Ravenshield multiplayer.
I think those features have a place in solo play or stealthy games, but they detract from the flow of a fast paced multiplayer game.
But as always - different strokes for different folks.
If anyone wants I have a working air.con file for BFV, BF1942 and BF Roand To Rome that works with the Saitek X45. If you want the file drop me an e-mail at Bassiswild@aol.com. I know a few of you out there had problems with the joystick and the game.
Also I really enjoy playing in the Knights server of BFV. If you see me on drop me a hello.
Later,
Duane
