And David Kay and Hans Blix are already trying to exlpain it away:
Two former weapons inspectors — Hans Blix and David Kay — said the shell was likely a stray weapon that had been scavenged by militants and did not signify that Iraq had large stockpiles of such weapons.

Confirmed!
Why is the press largely ignoring this story? This is significant. WMDs are being found in Iraq. This may just be the tip of the iceberg.

Perhaps the media should go ahead and quantify right now what constitutes a WMD stockpile. Is it 10 warheads in a room? 1000 shells neatly stacked with little skulls and crossbones on them? 1 of 10,000 shells scattered in houses and caves, and holes in the ground? What?

See the skull and crossbones in the background?
It's a good story, but it needs to hit someplace other than Stars and Stripes for me to really get excited.
