ColorLightbulb FINALLY! Decent Frame Rates in T2!

Turn off your sky... turn it all off. I got an immediate 25FPS performance boost without touching anything at all... woohoo! no more 30FPS for me!

Yeah, turning the sky off works great! I can't believe it took me this long to find out the secret!

SkullNCrossBones XP SP2 bad for T2

I was checking up on the stats about vengance and I came across a headline that says XP's SP2 that is comming out is bad for Tribes 2. From what I was reading is that SP2 installs a Firewall coutorsey of MS . From the sounds of it though it blocks the games access to the internet. Just thought you guys would find that interesting and if it does that for Tribes 2 I wonder about Tribes 1 and Vengance. The article was on www.planettribes.com.

Installs a Firewall, yes.. which is a pain in the butt. Thankfully its easy to disable said firewall.

Equally easy to poke a hole in said firewall for tribes2.exe, allowing you to play the game while still protecting your system with the new firewall.

Good old Microsoft they sure want their hand in everything we do. I am shying away from SP2 for the time being I have not really heard anything good about it. Puts on all these added things that if you probably have running on your system allready. I bet Symantec and McAfee are really hating MS by now. I am sure it will take away some of their business on the Firewall software.

Trust me... the Windows firewall is NO replacement for ZoneAlarm, Symantec, McAfee, Sygate, Softwall, Black Ice Defender, or any other solution.

For one thing, It does not block any outgoing traffic.

SP2 has had no negative effects on any of my machines. Other than Norton 2003 not being detected in the security panel (it still works perfectly, it just isn't detected) - I've had no issues with any other program.
