    Newer DC Movie

I finally got around to downloading the fan-made Battlefield: 1942 Desert Combat movie, "Navy SEALS". It's over 200mb but so far it's the best fan movie I've ever seen. The voices are a bit lame but the camera work, editing and music are well done. You can get it HERE

    Screen Caps are HERE

If you need it faster, I can put it on the FTP server for a week or so. (With AK permission)

Sure, they're off doing other things, but crickey, I'm begining to wonder if they're working for valve at this point..

Yeah, they had some nice screenshots of new stuff in .80 a while back, but then took them off their own website. I think the DC team is just working on .80 in their spare time now.

At the exact moment they signed a deal with EA, any hope of another patch... EVER for DC completely vaporized.

This is what we're stuck with until BF2 comes out.

No more maps. No more patches. Nothing.

And that's why DC is boring me to death. Blah.

On the dc website, in their forums, there is still talk of .8 but of course no dates. From the website:

    "Will DC port to BFV?"

The Devs response has been that there are no plans to port at this time.

"Is Trauma Studios working on BF: Modern Combat for PS2?"

    No.

    "Is Trauma working on BF2?"
Well it would seem so after all, according to an interview with EA. What role Trauma plays exactly is still unclear, but it is rumored they are testing the modability of it.

    "Is DC dead?"
    No.

"Is Trauma still working on DC .8?"
    Yes, slowly but surely.

"When will DC .8 be released?"
Unknown, however, you will hear about it first here:

Yeah, I'll believe DC .80 when I see it in action. They need some more GOOD vehicle maps in DC. More like El Alamein, less like Sea Rigs and Lost Village.

Heh--I guess that really is why they make chocolate and vanilla, Ab--those are two of my personal favorites, while the ones where I'm basically Frogfoot-bait aren't as appealing to me.

I guess my gripe with infantry maps on DC is that DC feels like it is made for vehicles. There's not much cover for infantry, like in Battlefield Vietnam or Silent Heroes. In BF:V or SH, I do well running around as infantry.

In DC, I am constantly being sniped or blasted at long range whenever I am on foot. There's just not as much good cover from vegetation or terrain.
