    I, Robot

Just returned from seeing this new flix. I enjoyed it, but predictable. Good effects of overhelming robots and of course the good guy also overcomes impressive odds against him.

The only thing that really matters is whether or not Bridget Moynihan looked good...

If they are going to title a movie after a book then they should really try and make it somewhat similar. I read the book, and I have only seen the trailers from this movie, and it looks like a total departure, but correct me if I am wrong. And if it is such a change from the book why not just call it something else?

I thought it was based on an Outer Limits episode?

Yeah ... I think the detective in the books was named Elijah Bailey ... not Spooner. They really just used the title and the concept of the Three Laws from Asimov. Nothing else.

From what I've heard and read (as I haven't seen "I, Robot" yet) it's pretty mucha a total departure from the Asimov novels. I've read the whole Robot series and enjoyed it immensely. "I, Robot" is the first book of the series. The second book - "The Caves of Steel" - is really the book they LOOSELY based the movie on.

When I saw hordes of angry robots attacking humans and Will Smith dodging and shooting at them I lost pretty much all desire to go see the movie.

Do yourself a favor - read the book!

I agree with Bribo, the books are excellent, and as soon as I saw that trailer, I completely lost all interest in it.

I saw it this weekend and enjoyed it. Decent plot line, cool special effects and steady action. IMHO worth watching.

That was a neat read, Bribo. I read I, Robot not too long ago, and Caves of Steel is on my list for the very near future. This movie will definitely be a "wait for the DVD" for me.

I think I need to dig up the old books thread in this forum and see what people have been reading lately...

ColorThumbsUp The special effects made it two thumbs up for me!

I saw it a few days ago when I was in Las Vegas. I thought they did an awesome job depicting the robot. They did a great job on making that robot look alive, the facial expressions were phenominal. All in all it was entertaining. Some of the scenes were pretty far fectched but I'd recommend it for good entertainment.
