ColorLightbulb Good Games

Practice tonight was impressive. We worked on Damnation having O vs D runs trying to cap. No turrets...thank you! After reviewing Defensive positions Slaughter, Goob and I set out running normal cap routes with escort. The first side we attempted to cap from was less than stellar. The defense held nicely. We switched routes and capped quickly on once run. Escorting helped on second cap as I got popped and Slaughter picked it up and finished the job. At first chasers were interupted by escorts but they soon learned to zero in on capper and keep on him. The HD wasn't able to lock on many times with missle launcher which surprised me...Need to figure out why.

So finally we tried the other route and capped 2 out of 3 attempts with heavy pressure by Defense. We switched roles towards the end of practice. We were crushed...only a couple of slivers of decent coverage.

In attendance were: SolarWolf, Raider, Jackle, Beast, Slaughter, Goob and myself. SolarWolf did a fine job and improved quickly...maybe to quickly. heh! Raider...boy, show off! Caps on me and blows me up with a satchel charge to boot as I'm chasing him. Man, I'm getting old. Jackle just hasn't missed a beat, pounds you into the ground and then reaches down with his hand and helps you up. Beast, likes his new spot on map...LazyBoy, 12pack of Milw. finest, little TV next to him for WWF and he just loves lobbing mortars and popping guys with his missle launcher. Slaughter as away, quite, almost shy but man when he smells blood...well thats why we call him Slaughter...Nice job all around capping and escorting. Goob...I feel your pain. Redjacks suck no two ways about it. While he was able to play some, he never got warmed up. Poor souls on the other team when he does though.

Anyway, thanks guys! I think we learned a little more, I hope it helped. The style of practice is what I would like to see us standardize on. I hope our Sunday practice goes as well...everybody was very, very professional tonight which made my job much, much easier...Thanks!

You know, I'd probably play on the AK server (more than the 3 times I have) if it would actually show up in the server list.

Wraith: a quick work-around might be to set your Master Server as "East" instead of the default. For some reason the server shows up on the East servers but not the West (everyone's default). Also, you'll still be able to see the West servers there as well, so I'm not sure for the reasoning of splitting them up. Just a suggestion...

Thanks for the compliment NR... but I didnt really think I did that well. I'm still warming up to the T2 physics engine, which differs slightly from the one in T1. I'm also having a very hard time judging distances of people I'm fighting, especially when theyre in the air. I love to put a disc on guys when they land, but Im having a hard time of it. It wont be long now tho, I get better every time I play.
I must say I totally enjoyed everyones company and spartsmanship, and thought that the practice was very well run. (As you said, having guys that listen up is half the battle)
I told Zorro about a comm program called "teamsound". It makes RW look like a POS. The ONLY drawback is that it requires higher end soundcards to perform for most people... so I dont know if it would work for everyone here or not. Its crystal clear voice comm tho, and can be set up to run O and D on different channels. Also, there is a function for players to set a hotkey to toggle between the two channels... making it perfect for commanders. It causes no lag in any game Ive ever used it on. Check it out at www.teamsound.com and let me know if some of you want to try it. I'll be happy to hook up with you for a test.
Ok...sorry this is so long. Seeya at practice!

My experience hasn't provided the level of satisfaction you've enjoyed. We tried to use it in OGL competition last year and found several guys with all kinds of headaches. So back to RW we went. I love the features of Teamsound and would jump back on if the challenges would or could be resulted quickly.

Wraith: Try putting on a filter with [AK] (or August Knights) as the name and put the only servers to ping as east and west.. thats how I got it back.. just a bit of advice.

Sounds like I missed a good practice. They had me chained to my desk at work all night. Hopefully I'll catch you guys on the weekend.

Everyone came out of the woodwork tonight.

At practice we had Palooka,Goob,Slaughter,Pixelsponge,Beast,Jackle,So larWolf and myself. Later we had Widowmaker, Wolf, Wraith, Abaddon, donkeyballs and some [DK]guy I can't remember, sorry!

Earlier in the day we had Abaddon, Dr K, Goob, Pixelsponge and myself going at it in Hunters.

Sorry I didn't stick around longer.. my ISP hates me.. If it kicks me once more while I'm playing games I'm going to complain to them about it. > I'm not a very happy customer.
