Nah.. that is nothing new really.

On the other side... after playing Doom 3 a little last night with Stitch.. I loaded SuSE 9.1 Professional on my Linux box. SuSE ROCKS!!!

Over the last month I've went from Mandrake 10.0, to Fedora Core 2, and now to SuSE 9.1 and I must say SuSE was by far the superior installation 'for me'.

YaST is extremely easy to use and installation configuration was fantastic. Once installed, I did a YOU (YaST Online Update) and downloaded all the patches, Kernel update, and even the NVIDIA drivers and all installed without a single problem. Upon reboot I got the NVIDIA logo and glxgears worked without a hitch. I never did get it to work on FC2 and was having sporadic problems on Mandrake using the NVIDIA drivers. It also has a much "cleaner" feel to the desktop area with it's default icons, KDE settings, etc. Linux purists will hate this, but it's more "Windows" like IMHO in terms of getting to what you want to do. It even has a "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

I've got Antialiasing 4x on now, with no problems. Looks like candy.

I'm running at 800X600 on "High" settings. I think it looks better than 1024X768 at Medium.

But my poor ATI 9800 Pro 128mb is hanging in there.

My Ti4600 keeps taunting me with Ultra.. but I'd rather not test it at that level yet at 1024x768.

Squid, I have to thank you for mentioning AA.. I turned AA 2x on, 1024x768 still high quality and everything on.. runs even smoother than before.

Franks&Beans here at work is using at GF4 Ti4200. He has a bunch of things turned down but still says it looks good, it's real scary and he's having a good time playing it.

I just tried Ultra on my Ti4600... it darn near ate my computer alive.

As a side note: High with AA 2x at 1024x768 and everything on looks pretty much the same. So I'll stick with it, since it runs like silk at that setting.
