It's just not Tribes2. Graphic quality for this is really great, and the maps are pretty nice also. But it just doesn't grab me.

You only see the little "friend/foe" flag when you're inside their sensor net.

With T1 and 2, you had deployable sensors, which added a significant element of strategy.

Unfortunately they decided to remove it in T:V

That would be better IMO, maybe it's only that way for the beta. As stated previously I am not giving up on it yet, just not a first impression that makes me want to run out and buy it.

Without the "flag" it'd be impossible to determine friend or foe, rendering the game unplayable, imo.

If you want to make the thing "logical", explain it as an on board sensor id thingy.

Also there are more elements to strategy and gameplay than the element of surprise.

If you don't like it or are undecided that's fine. I'm not sure that I like it either. I'm just sayin' is all.

A bit early to scrutinize me thinks. Final version may be beefier of course while mods may take the game back to a not so noob friendly status. Just have to see where it goes. Ill being buying retail and at worse have to wait for a mod that puts strategy back in the game like earlier verions.

Solid game engine, excellent physics and plenty of eye candy make it a great foundation for possibilities IMO.
