I've been working on an Antivirus Primer for my website and I just put a version of it up now. I was wondering if you could take a look at it when you have a free moment and let me know if you see any glaring errors, omissions, or suggestions.

coopted is actually "co-opted" otherwise it gets pronounced like in chicken coop.

6th section from bottom...first word "additionally" misspelt as "additonally" ('i' is missing)

Info on SP2...uh..ahem..uh..okay...LOL...I'm scared senseless of the thing..and not because of the press....LOL!!!

Thanks for the proofing! I wrote it, and the limited code on the page, in notepad without spellcheck - which is apparent. Just did it in Dreamweaver to check a few things and made the corrections.

Just a quick read through:

You used a capitol M in Malware earlier; maintain consistancy
The main thing to understand about protecting yourself from malware is that most viruses and many worms cannot spread unless you open the door for them to do so.

Anti-Virus or or antivirus. Pick one and stick with it.
...not is to update your Antivirus software with the most current virus definitions

set your anti-virus software to scan all incoming email as it is being downloaded


No comma after "cable"
If you computer is connected to a network, unplug the Ethernet cable, or disable your wireless access

Leave "Virus" lower case to be consistent
Run your Virus checking software and remove any detected viruses.

Use 3 periods here
Internet Exploder.. pardon me, Explorer.

Chances 'are' not 'is'
The chances of you having significant problems, in my opinion, is a bit exaggerated
