Played the first little bit (just past the transporter...) So far it lives up to everything I'd hoped it would...and then some.

Looks great! I am currently stuck in a water-filled area where you have to turn a valve to raise the water level. I can't see anywhere to go once the water level rises. Just like old times .... :-)

I liked the bit where the tower was releasing clouds of those photographic eyeball things (as Barney was giving you your crowbar.) Lots of eye candy, but I often findmyself running away from stuff so fast that I can't take it all in.

It kicks ass so far. My only complaint is the reload animation and associated sound effect (or lack thereof) for the 9mm, but that's nitpicking. The game is beautiful, the action is intense, and it feels like Half-Life. I'm playing in 2048x1024 with all bells and whistles turned on, and it's almost liquid smooth, even on my old 9800 Pro 256.

I like how they place the exploding barrels in certain levels. They basically challenge you to set in motion a "mousetrap-esque" chain of events with a few well placed bullet shots.
Letting the barnacles grab them before you shoot them is fun too.
My only complaint would be the between level loading time.
