    The Last Five

Good, bad or indifferent - the last five music CDs you bought, stole or otherwise came to have in your possession:

Green Day "American Idiot" - fantastic album
Edguy "Hellfire Club" - think Iron Maiden
Trail of Dead "Worlds Apart" - post-punk is not dead
Arcade Fire "Funeral" - one of 2004's best
Cake "Pressure Chief" - a polished and spiffy effort from the purveyors of fine funk rock

Post away. Don't be ashamed to say "This one sucked!"

Dark Tranquility "Character" Fantasic trash metal album, a must own for any old school Anthrax fans.
Nightwish "Once" Gothic opera metal. Hot looking chic, cool tunes. Worth checking out.
Arch Enemy "Dead Eyes See No Future" EP from a death metal band with a hot blonde doing vocals. Live trax and cover tunes.
Dead to Fall "Villainy and Virtue" Hardcore metal band that does a great job presenting Yin and Yang life situations.
Mastodon "Levithan" Amazing rock opera about the book Moby Dick. A must own for any old Metallica and Rush fans. This is really worth owning.

I haven't purchased 5 cds in the past year (probably not even the past 2 years). I purchase individual songs via iTunes...

Stole the week before supernova went offline:

    Van Halen - Complete Discography
    U2 - Complete Discography
    Police - Complete Discography
    The Dead Milkmen - Beelzebubba
    Metallica - Complete Discography

That was what I liked about supernova... you could get a .zip file of every song (single, import, rare, etc...) from a band in a few hours.

Have you found a half decent replacement for supernova yet?

I pretty much only use Torrent Reactor the few times I use Bit Torrent anymore (outside getting Linux items).

I have all their stuff on LP in my garage. One of these days I'm going to have to go buy a record player and rip them into .mp3.

Interesting, I'll have to check that out. I remember Iron Maiden's Rhime of the Ancient Mariner, and thought that was just the best thing ever. Is this somehow like that?

I, um, asked a friend.. of a friend.. this question, and got a couple links...

If you want an online TiVo, this is pretty much the "most clean" site my friend, has run across Tv-Swarm. (clean meaning very little duplicates, unless of differing quality and updated almost instantly with latest shows being up top.)

As far as Supervona replacement, check out TorrentSpy's latest uploads.

My last six (because I always have to go that extra mile ):

Eminem - Encore -- I just got this last week, and haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but he's really funny when he wants to be (as opposed to when he's just angry).

Ray Charles - Genius Loves Company -- Great album of duets by a legendary singer and top-notch talent around him. A fitting finale to a distinguished career.

Cake - Pressure Chief -- One of my favorite bands. See Bribo's review; he sums it up nicely.

William Shatner - Has Been -- Not what you'd expect from Capt. Kirk; tons of fun to listen to. Faxman turned me onto this; maybe he'll tell you more.

Ben Folds - Super D -- The last of four five-song EPs he's released before his new full-length album (I hear that's coming out this quarter). This is my all-time favorite musician and songwriter, and while this one isn't as good as Sunny 16 or Speed Graphic, it's still pretty good.

Dwight Yoakam - Dwight's Used Records -- A very interesting mix of covers and originals, including several bluegrass tunes with the legendary Ralph Stanley. Not for everyone, but if you like Dwight's other stuff or bluegrass music, you'll absolutely love this album.
