Personally, I like Lieberman and he was the one Democratic candidate that stood any kind of chance getting my vote back during the primaries. I think he would do a fine job as he is both pro-Israel and pro-defense.

Personally, I wouldn't have voted for Lieberman for president--he's too closely affiliated with a certain pro-censorship group for me. But I like a lot of his stances on defense/terrorism issues, and I think he'd make a great SecDef. It would be a nice gesture of interparty cooperation in a policy arena that absolutely requires it.
