I picked up one of these today...
Haven't had much time to play with it (charging) but my first impression is one of amazement over the clarity of the screen and the size (small) of the mini-disks it uses. I'll take some photos later tonite.

If you were a zombie and I had to kill you, I'd feel sad.
Your wife - evidently - is the shizzle.

Friend of mine and his dad got 2 yesterday.. Have to say I was suprised at how clear the screen was(not to mention a bit too glossy because anything you did left a fingerprint..)

As is the case with most of these handheld games, it's best when not played in broad daylight. A semi-dark room works.

You don't play all your games like that?

I got mine at Fred Meyer last saturday. Funny, all the main electronics places were sold out and so I thought I would get one sometime when they were around, no way was I gonna get all obsessive about it. But while I was at Freddies for some deli meat I went to check out their DvD's and they had about 15 of the PsP's on the shelf so I bought one.
Anyway the two games I have are Twisted Metal: Head On and Untold Legends.
I can say that Twisted Metal was everything I was hoping for. A great fun game, cars with guns and missles... ah the good old days. And it is Online Infrastucture (means Internet playable). I finaly entered the modern era and got a wireless router too since the PsP does have built in 802.11b functionality. I can play Twisted Metal online from any wireless access point. Was cool to blow people up while walking around the office. Online play sucked for the last few days as Sony's servers were having problems but they seem to be working it out as I was able to blow people up and get blown up plenty last night.
Untold Legends is a great action role playing game. It is very much like the Baldur's Gate and Champions of Norrath games for the PS2 and Xbox. Diabloesque action and lots of different loot to grab. My Knight is level 15 now. Too bad this game is not playable through infrastucture but it is multiplayer capable through the built in Ad Hoc network between peers with up to 4 people. We can only hope for internet playablity in the future. All in all a very excellent game for the PsP.
I would suggest both games for PsP owners, Twisted Metal for its online capability and Untold Legends because it is a cool action/rpg.
If you ever get Twisted Metal and see a Neckbone online that is probably me.
