    Max Payne

Two words: buy it. Max Payne has the best action of any game I've ever played, bar none. I actually find myself reloading constantly just to play the same scenes over and over. Take the best of John Woo rolled up with the super slow-motion effects of the Matrix, and you get an idea of what the action is like.

I bought the game too, and echo what Palooka says.

I will say that Max looks cooler in the game than in the graphic novel scenes... In-game he looks like a hard boiled action hero. In the graphic novel scenes he looks like a thin, strung-out, disgruntled Tribes 2 player...

Have you noticed that all the comic book scenes are obviously photos that have been filtered in Photoshop? Apparently, the actor they found to play Max is a pasty, malnourished computer geek.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that all of the actors are members of the design team.

How'd you like that one sub boss that was getting (ahem) serviced by the Hooker? The sound effects alone in the graphic novel were LOL funny...

Then when you fight the guy, he stumbles around with his pants down around his ankles...

Yeah, that was pretty funny. He took a lot of bullets, too. By the way, I finished the game early this morning. My only complaint is that it's too short. Just wait until you get to the last chapter . . . incredible.

    Shades

I got MP this afternoon... Played it solid from like 4PM to now (11PM). I'm in the middle of Chapter 8 now...the night club. All-in-all, I'm quite impressed. The Matrix slow-mo stuff is completely cool. I hope the shortness of it means that they'll release add-ons or something... Thanks for the tip, Palooka...

I have no doubt that an expansion or two will be in the works. Keep in mind that there will likely be many player-made expansions, as well; the game ships with a level editor.

    Red face

That icon is me yawning. As you can see it's 3 am, and I have been playing Max Payne. It's a very cool game, and yes I'll have beaten it by tomorrow I'm guessing. I'm looking forward to trying out the map editor it comes with.

Saw it the other night, but my budget just won't allow me to throw $50 bucks to get it (at Electronics Boutique). Next month, when Best Buy gets it and puts it on sale for $35 or whatever (like they did with Tribes 2), then I'll get it.
