Thread: DVD recording. Disk label says 4.7Gb...

    DVD recording. Disk label says 4.7Gb...

    But when I do a data burn, it will only let me burn 4.5Gb. What gives?

    if you use it for data, it's like a hard drive. a 40GB HD will really be 38GB. 2GB for file allocation tables, etc. so your .2GB is being used by the OS.

    Another thing to think about clay is you REALLY dont want to burn right to the edge of the disk. = Bad!
