BF2 let down

What a let down, they released this game in a beta state. How can you release a game and not allow all keys on the keyboard to be bound to controls. If I don't get a response by tomorrow from tech support as to when they will allow numpad keys to be bound then I will be returning the game.

Agreed. I've used the num pad keys in first person shooters for years. Now that I'm forced to use other keys, I can barely get around in the game. I suppose I'll have to retrain my digits for the time being.

I like to play with my ass-pad interface, but BF2 doesn't support it.

You leave Faxman and Gunny alone you big bully. I really don't think we need to provoke them any more and have to live through name changes to [AK]Kurtz1 and [AK]Kurtz2 due to them not having there number pad configuration fix.

Commanders won't allow their men to map controls to their num pads because it is "obscene".

I can't bind my joystick's X-axis (axis 0) to control the rotation of planes or helos. Oddly enough, it works fine for steering boats.

Um NO! awsd is lame, I should be able to use the same config I have used for every game for the past 5 years. The whole point of me using the numpad is I don't have to look at the keyboard for anything. To release a game in today's market that you can only use certain keys is very amateurish, especially with a $50 price tag.

I haven't run into any problem so far with the controls other than my own skill

I don't use the number pad, so it doesn't effect me.

The only thing I've encountered is re-mapping the commander screen from caps lock to [ because I use the caps lock key for Ventrilo.

My joystick has worked fine as far as I tested last night, but I need to check all the aircraft because in the demo, a few aircraft actually had my throttle axis reversed, but worked fine in others. Of the 3 helo I flew last night, they worked as expected.

I like playing as commander... Artillery barrages are fun!

I agree that you should be able to remap everything.

You must admit however, that biting the bullet and embracing the AWSD tyranny would save you the hassle of remapping every single game you buy.

I agree with the initial point of this thread, to release a game in obvious beta state is rediculous, EA must now be taking cues from M$. My main bitch right now is support for my 9800aiw pro or should I say lack there of. Hey Gunny are you a south paw ? I've never heard of ppl using the numpad for navigation in game, but then again I am just another sheep following the AWSD movement

Squidly, asspad control ? do I even want to know? lol
