My drive is very quiet, but I have heard from some others that it's a noisy drive. I'm not sure if I'm one of the lucky ones or not. But remember your spinning platters at 10,000 Rotations Per Minute (RPM). That will produce a little more noise no matter how you cut it.

You just think it's quiet because you can't hear it with your ankles covering your ears with your feet behind your head.
