When it first came out, I ... like most American men, skipped it, as it was directed by the guy that does Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yuck.
But when it came back on the air on the Sci-Fi Chnl, the wife and I started to watch it, and damn if it wasn't a great show. Finally, something on TV that wasn't a CSI, Law & Order, or Medical Drama. It was original, funny, and well written.
Watch all the episodes and then do the movie (which wraps up everything nicely)
Also, Battlestar Galactica starts up next week. It won Time Magazines TV Show of the Year, an Emmy, a Hugo and was on the AFI's list of winners for 2005. One of the best shows out there... hands down. There will be a recap of the previous seasons Monday night on SciFi.
BSG is a great series, and I was a huge skeptic with the revisioning of the series. I still have the miniseries from when it first launched on my TiVO. I need to buy the DVD set.

My local fred-myers had BSG Seasons1 and 2 with stickers on them for $10 off if you purchased either season along with Serenity. I picked up both seasons and an extra copy of Serenity for a friend and got $40 off, the guy scanned each $10 off sticker and it actually processed all of them..
