I think the whole process in building your own is the most rewarding. You know and control each piece of hardware you put into it. And the awesome feeling you get once it's done and up and running is really worth it.

If there was no chance of NOT succeeding then there wouldnt be a feeling of success when finished.

The good part is most of the eqipment if purchased right should come with a warranty and a lil tech support. The internet is also chalk full of good information regarding hardware compatability and user reviews, so you can read those before you buy.

You could rebuild your current machine as a Media Center PC and then just buy a XBOX360 and have it connect over. That way you have a total multimedia expeirence and you can play some awesome games with me
