Watch Laura Ingraham--looking no worse for the wear after being treated for breast cancer last year--work Juan Williams into an incoherent lather. Juan seems to think that Israel's defense of itself is a bad strategy; we can only assume that he would prefer its immediate surrender. His strategy for Israel--explained after a brief deer-in-the-headlights moment--is the immediate commencement of (surprise) diplomatic efforts on the part of the United States, as if that's not what we're already doing. He wants the US to convice Arab states to get involved in Lebanon. I would prefer that Arab states not get involved; I want dead terrorists, not dead Jews.

That is quite silly indeed. If IDF were to back off in the slightest manner it would actually fuel the opposition tremendously at this point.

The only way to go now is forward with even more brute force.

I can't. What's worrisome is that I don't ever see hostilities ceasing permanently over there unless either one side or the other is wiped out by force.
