It seems we have new members to this site almost every day. The names don't usually make sense. I don't see any of them posting either. Anyone know why that is?

I suspect that a lot of them are bot accounts, which are being created in order to either insert spam into the boards or to crawl the boards for email addresses or any information they can scavenge to send out spam.

These spam places are getting almost viral about it.

It has been a while since I created my account but doesn't Palooka need to authorize the account before someone can post? Besides, you don't need an account to view these forums...

Well I am hoping that we don't have a security issue.

They are mostly spammers from Russia. They can't do squat, and I delete them on a regular basis.

Yeah, I can't delete them but if I spot a newcomer with an obvious spam name, I ban the account before it can post. (Check out the name of today's lucky winner....)
