Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer

I am a formerly avid comic book fan. I know the Silver Surfer story coming and going. Which leads me to my question I mean statement lol.

I know that when movie writers get a hold of comic book story line they tend to combine 3 or more story lines into one and and twist them to what they feel is the story. The worst example of them twisting and combing three story lines into one movie was the final X-Men movie. It was so bad that I am still to this day unable to watch it. They really butchered the Phoenix Saga. That could have been such an amazing movie than the one that they ended up with.

Which leads me back to the Fantastic Four. They kind of did not go that close to the comic series in the first movie. I like the Silver Surfer story and I hope they do not screw that up. It was so cool his begining and up to the point of him working for Galactus. I was watching previews and as far as I could tell I did not hear any mention of Galactus. I wonder how they are going to explain the Silver Surfers exsistence?

I really hope that this is one where they stay true to the comic story line. I am really surprised that Stan Lee does not say WTF are you people doing that is not what is souposed to happen.

In closing I see that Transformers the movie is coming out. That will be another movie that I am really anxious about.

I Just got back from seeing it, and to my surprise it was actually pretty good. Finally a decent one. After Ghost Rider (Don't waist your time) and Spider-man 3 (wait for DVD) I was not going in expecting a good movie. F4 was good and had some really good comedy moments, Stan Lee made his cameo and the story line was good. Hard to not say any spoilers but Galactus was a big part of the movie.

Transformers better be good, that one I actually collected not only the comics but I had every bot made when they first came out. I sold them to a neighbor when i was a kid
I looked on ebay for them about 2 weeks ago and about cried when I saw what the originals are going for now. I still have the comics. I may sell #1 through 5 if the movie is a hit.

AND JESSICA ALBA OVER JESSICA BEAL 1000%!!!!

I heard that Galactus is not in his normal form but is instead a giant cosmic cloud (which IMO is kind of lame.) Still, I'm hearing good things about the 2nd movie and will probably take the kids to this one.

As for Jessica Alba vs. Jessica Biel, one viewing of Sin City makes that choice clear: Jessica Alba FTW

I was quite disappointed with the first F4... it seemed to be focused on a younger target audience... which is fine. I know, I'm an adult and these are comic book movies for kids, but the reason these films are being green-lighted is because we comic book reading kids of the 70's and 80's are now a powerful financial force and the studios want our money. Yet it seems that they forget that we are not 8 anymore. We may want comic-book movies but now we have higher expectations. Batman Begins, 300, Sin City... these worked for me. Ya, F4 isn't a gritty dark graphic novel, but it didn't have to be so lollipop and cotton-candy looking. I now require a bit of drama, plot, and character development. It's just a shame they didn't make all these movies in 1984... that would have rocked.

I'm still looking forward to 'Watchmen', "Batman vs Joker', and yes, 'Transformers', which looks like a great summer afternoon popcorn movie.

You have to love those shots!

I was also looking on ebay for the Original Transformers and I was bumed I could not find any. I saw the new Transformer toys and they were no where near the quality that they were in the 80's. Not one of them is metal. They are all cheap plastic. What a bummer. Does not surprise me. Toys now a days are made to be disposable. I really want to see Transformers and I probably will see F4.

I am glad to hear that F4 was good, and that Galctus had a part in the movie. I guess it would be hard to make a giant figure like Galactus. With the Watchmen are they doing it as a live action or cartoon?

I heard the other day that Marvel signed on with Disney. Hopefully that will inject some good blood into the upcoming Marvel movies in the next few years.

With Ghost Rider I knew it would not be good when I saw they pick Nicholas Cage, very annoying. I think that Vin Diesel would have been better for that part. That is just me though.

Jessica Alba or Biel. It's a bit like apples and oranges. Alba the cute girl next door, Biel with the mind-shattering physique. I mean look at those shoulders...

And it doesn't help that you guys show the best pictures of Alba, and only mediocre ones of Biel.
