Well, I couldn't check out the Laser stuff on my work machine, but did enjoy the blog from over the weekend. I've been Lovin the Rolex Series so far this year and of like mind to get to a race next year. There's also a lot of decent footage of it on youtube. And someday to get to the party at the 24 hours at Le Mans.

So I was at the Pocono race this weekend and sat directly behind the #5 pit right next to victory lane. Was a pretty decent race, but I got an awesome silvinear (sp? - may need to sound it out. :-) ) I got an used Lug Nut from the 5 car. Some would probably see that as corny as hell, but a race fan may see otherwise! =) I'll post a reply as soon as I get my pics posted to Flickr.

If you like videos, I suggest you try this:

    Racing Underground

I got several old CAN-AM series videos off it. But you can find a TON of racing from all over the world on there.

I'd have to fight the urge not to take that lug nut and hit Busch brother number two in the back of the head with it.

I have the SVRA Zippo Vintage Grand Prix coming up in September.

That's looks like a great time up there, have fun!! I'll be touring through the finger lakes the prior weeks and heading to moe.down the weekend prior in Snow Ridge Ski area in Turin, NY. I'll actually be knee deep in football the weekend of the Zippo race.

I'll definitely check out the site you recommended there. Also, I know you despise console sims and that's an old conversation, but if you ever wanted to give it a first hand try just let me know. I've got the FF, surround sounds, etc to give a good demo and I believe you only live about an hour from me.
Aside from that, I would love to see you behind the wheel and maybe even get some advice toward my driving.

    ..The offers out there..

edit -- btw - from where I was sitting, I actually could have hit Kurt with that lug nut. But I can't take anything away from his team this weekend, he had one heck of a setup underneath him.

Sorry Os, I somehow missed this post and didn't respond

My driving lessons are $75 an hour, and you're responsible for any damage to equipment.

Being that close, we could even drive over and harrass Squidly....

I'm actually considering getting a console one of these days, probably the 360. I have a few sim buddies who love some of the new racing GAMES out for the 360 now. I'll be honest, my G25 wheel is sitting on the floor and probably has dust on the dust as I haven't done any sim racing in a good 9 months now. For that matter, I haven't done any gaming whatsoever either. Just been way to busy with summer projects, etc.

Forza 2? If I buy a 360, that will be my first game. I loved the original on the old XBox.

    Yup, Forza2 is simply awesome.

Forza1 made me go get the xbox. And Forza2 forced the 360.

As for new additions for 2; tournaments, WAY advanced online racing - easy to narrow down what can and can't be run, Auction House, friend time comparisons, a Lot better painting system, downloadable ghosts and ya.. I dig it. It's now surpassed GT2 as my favorite racing Sim/Game.

How many seconds can you take off for $75/hr?
I've got a few times in the top 1,500 of 222,000, but need help with the R1/R2 race cars. btw - racing heads up with collisions off is a great way to play follow the leader.

LOL - Depends on the track. If it's Watkins... I'm the master. If it's Nurburgring... I need a GPS and lap times require a calendar.
