I think Punkbuster has kicked me out of a QW server once...that's about it.
The Orange box is a must-buy for any serious gamer. Portal, TF2, and HL2/Epi2 are all fantastic.
It's impossible to overstate this. Buy it NOW. Seriously.

And yes, I have the latest DX version and I've tried 5 different versions of video drivers both the official ATI & Omega. HL2 ran flawlessly - Episode 1 crashes every 30 seconds.

No problems here, and I have the same video card. Have you tried a clean install of both HL2 and Epi1 from scratch?

Yep.. already did the re-install routine twice. Along with driver cleaners, driver re-installs, no overclocking going on, etc.

Sounds like you need to degrade your system to WinME.

I just tried the regedit fix that the one person posted back in September to set the Memory Management to 384mb and I just played Episode 1 for a good 20 minutes with no crash. Was running DX9 at 1680x1050 with everything maxed out. I'll have to give it a good go to see if it is fixed, but it's the longest I've played the game without a crash.

Sounds cool, Hylander. Fight to get thru Episode 1 because episode 2 is like twice as good.
Better plot, better action, and more things to see.
