Quick note. I have a PIII 1Ghz machine with 256K memory. Everytime I load a game in BF 1942 it seems that everything goes to the swap file on the disk instead of memory and it takes forever for the game to load. Anyone else experience this?

Me thinks that if you only have 256K of memory, you have more serious issues
LOL - anyway, Ive just put together a machine (P4 with 1 GB memory) and the game does not load any faster then my older 512 MB machine. I just think this is just the way the game was designed, although I did hear someone say that an increase in memory helped them tremendously.

Yes. I ran with 256 for a while and things were SLOOOOOOWWW when loading and switching maps. I've since upgraded to 640meg and now things are quite snappy.

If you were a zombie and I had to kill you, I'd feel sad.
Yeah I knew that I would have to pony up for some more memory sooner or later! Ok slap me now.

Well, memory is cheap at least

If you have XP, I think 512MB is pretty much the minimum.
