Does anyone know where I can it on video at? My wife wanted to see what all the fuss was about and I can't seem to locate it.
Thanks

What was so offensive about the MNF intro?
I saw no nudity.. just a towel dropping.
iirc that is the nature of the Desperate Housewives show.
I think the NFL is just making a big deal about it because it was TO.

I guess the idea is that some folks don't want to turn into football and get sexual inuendo and implied nudity.
Some of those people have children about that like to watch football with their parents. Etc.
I don't mind trash tv - as long as you keep it in its spot. That way parents can make decisions. Another issue I have is the glitzification of the NFL, but that's a rant for another day.

This is exactly how I feel. It's probably nothing that you don't see daily on a TV soap opera, but when you turn on a soap you know what to expect. I think it was pretty inappropriate to be shown before a game. I shouldn't have to be forced to talk to my kids about sex education during a football.Originally Posted by [AK]Squidly

Um...last I checked Cheerleaders..which are historically part of the game...are majorly sexually inuendoing....I mean I fell into the trap in the early 80s with the Dallas cheerleaders! That's precisely how I ended up rooting for that bunch of assclowns for 10 yrs. And didn't we JUST have a post showing all the sexy ladies shaking their thangs? So saying that you turned in and didn't expect to see half naked women making sexually charged motions...well that's just silly if you ask me.
now quick..move this to the Political channnel before someone gets hurt!!!
EDIT: the post was Heat Wave, initiated by Hylander, Dated Nov. 4, 2004 in General Discussions.

Cheerleaders aren't even the same thing as what happened last Monday, and "coverage" of them by the networks is scant and fleeting.
A nude woman hinting at sexual favors and dropping her towel is an inappropriate tie in for the NFL.
It's got nothing to do with political correctness. This coming from someone who regularly views pr0n that could curl your hair.

Thank you Slaughter for yet another example!
Could someone PLEASE tell me how that isn't sexual?? And, I'd like to point out for the record, that if you look at the pics posted by Slaughter and Hylander, and then look at the MNF video...the pics show WAY more flesh...and WAY more flesh in the "exciting" spots. How is that NOT sexual??? Watched the video and I laughed...looked at the pictures...I'm smiling...but I'm not laughing...MMMMM YUMMY!!! I'd love to see a "timing" of the amount of time that a cheerleader is shown on the screen for a game, and then the amount of time that woman from "houswives" was shown...just because an image is fleeting doesn't make it less there!
"Daddy? why are those women half naked and thrusting their hips at the TV? and why are all the guys staring??...Daddy?...Daddy?...can you hear me? Why are you staring???"
If you can't see the difference, nothing I say will convince you.

I'll give you this though Squid...it was inappropriate, not because of it's sexual overtones, but because it isn't part of football...football is about a ball, a game, a big field, Hank Williams Jr., Cheerleaders, touchdowns, field goals, great receptions and terrible fumbles. It's not about an arguabley trashy show...the skit had no place there not because of it's "tone" but because it just isn't part of football! It would be just like seeing 5 minutes of a chess match before a hockey game...or 5 min of whirling dirvishes before an NBA game..just totally out of context and out of place...and THAT'S why it shouldn't have been there...
all IMHO of course.
I'm the last one to throw race into these types of situations... but I still suspect if it were a white player in the intro, this controversy wouldn't exist. Or at least, wouldn't have the legs it currently has. This is just my suspicion, as I've seen much worse and as pointed out all over talk sports radio, etc... it is pretty hypocritical of the NFL considering all the sexual innuendo that have flashing throughout their games with the various erectile dysfunction pills.
I think this was completely blown out of proportion, even if it was 'inappropriate' per se.

Who cares about the MNF thing? How about that Pistons/Pacers brawl? The Pistons fans are punks, and that guy who ran onto the court and into Ron Artest's right hook had it coming. That said, Artest and Jackson were very unprofessional, acting in a way unbecoming of "professional" athletes who make millions per year to repeatedly throw a ball into a basket; they should have stayed out of the stands, allowing the security people to take care of the fans who were throwing objects and shouting racial epithets.
Artest is nothing more than a thug, plain and simple. He's domonstrated that throughout his career.Originally Posted by [AK]Palooka

However, as the Pacers owner said, the players are paid extremely well and part of that contract is for them to tolerate a certain amount of this kind of stuff, and obey the rules that require them to stay out of the stands - no matter what. It is not only for their own protection, but that of the other fans who had nothing to do with the provocation.
From what I saw, and from various accounts, the very first punch thrown by Artest was at the wrong fan who was just trying to get out of the way. This fan just became at least a few hundred thousand dollars richer, I'm sure. There is going to be dozens of arrests, charges, and lawsuits to come out of this one.
