I know our old BF server is Linux... but does anyone have the ability to host a Win32 version?

Okay.. the linux server should be out next week... Palooka... can you get our server online?
After finally getting around the issues with creating an account thaks to the numerous old GameSpy and EA accounts.. I played for a bit this morning and I REALLY like what I saw so far.
It seems (again, from very limited time playing) that teamwork and knowing 'your role' is going to be vital in winning. I like that aspect alot. If you are a medic, you better focus on healing. If you are support, you better focus on providing ammo, etc.
My 9800 Pro 128mb is definitely showing its age. I can play at 1024X768 as long as I turn all the settings down to medium and no AA, but I'm definitely ordering a 6800GT this week.

Yeah, I'll give it a try when the Linux server is released.

I can run a dedicated Windows server on our previous BF1942/DC server, and Stitch mentioned before he went on vacation that someone else might be able to do the same, but I forgot who it was....
Anyone find any specific servers you like to play on? (hopefully ones without the time limit..)
Hy, This is the card that both Gunny and I have. It is a fantastic card. I really Recco. this for the money. BFG 6800GT OCOriginally Posted by [AK]Hylander
I play on "Over The Hill". I've been playing on their DC server for about 6 months and their BF2 demo server is pretty good. No time limit and the map repeats about a dozen time before it reloads the map. Direct IP Connect is 162.42.224.186.
Oh ya, and they've done the server side unlock of all the hidden weapons. "How about a Sniper rifle that takes one shot? (not sure cause I was alone), or a street sweeper shottie with 12 rounds semi auto. The Engineer has a fully auto shottie with 8 rounds. Come check it out, very cool in deed."
Can i get some logs when available?

Yeah, but I'm not spending $400 on a video card. $300 is my cap, or the very low $300. Newegg doesn't carry that card and it's out of stock at Zip Zoom Fly. Techbargains.com has it listed once for $319 from some company I've never heard of.Originally Posted by [AK]StitchJones

My ATI 9600 is running it with no problems. Stock ATI drivers had to be upgraded to the latest release but so far so good.
Uh no... I run almost all my games at 1024X768, and I do like at least "most" of the eye candy on. When I try to run 1600 on my 19in screen, the text is so small its almost unreadable for games where reading text is somewhat important.Originally Posted by [AK]StitchJones
Like I said before, my 9800 128mb holds its own as long as I leave everything at "medium" with no AA. FPS doesn't drop below 30fps according to FRAPS.
Haven't they hung you at the Alamo yet???
