Read a preview of this. Looks like some very unique gameplay features.
I will be buying this, though I'll probably wait a week or three to see if the price comes down.
I may pick it up after the new year once it hits the sale racks. I'm currently wrapped up in "The Movies", and enjoying it quite a bit.
Delivered last night and hope to escape my turkey coma to try it out!
I'm actually enjoying the hell out of this expansion. The night vision is a little cheap but without it you cant do much... The grappling hook rocks... You can basically go anywhere. I got to unlock 3 new weapons which just ruled.
It is Slower paced but in my opinion allot funner being more stealth
I just picked the game up at Best buy, Had it on sale for 24.00.. check your local Sunday add.
I haven't played much of it, but when I have it was laggy as hell. I dunno, maybe it was just me or the servers I was in.
The SAS and Navy Seals all have new gun sets. Other than that, other factions get screwed. Expect to use the MEC set of weapons a lot if your not on the allies side.
The zip line is so-so, I can see how it would be useful for snipers. The grappling hook is definitely where it's at. I probably spent a good hour or so just seeing how high I could get in the different new maps. A lot fo fun.
I haven't played the maps enough to get a good feel for them, as stated above the lag, etc. From what people have been saying however, there are definitely a few good ones.
The one thing that i didn't expect was the use of SF guns in regualr BF:2. After playing a round or so in SF, if you log out and then back in again you should have a few new unlocks. How it works is that if you have unlocked the tier one weapon, say the G3 for assault, you are now able to unlock the SF tier 2 weapon. This lets you use good ol' special forces guns in regular vanilla BF:2. I don't like the fact that now flash bangs whore's are another thing to worry about on maps like Karkand. But I suppose its a good marketing ploy by EA to get the rest of the community to buy SF.
Overall, there is enough content to keep you occpied for awhile. Honestly, I haven't gotten my money's worth yet. If you're on the fence about whether to get this or not, I wouldn't waste the money. If you are playing Bf:2 somewhat reguarly, I would say that the 30 bucks or so is worth the extra maps and cool gadgets.

I see that this game is now available via EA's answer to Steam for download. I think I might pick this up and give it a look one night soon.
I picked this up this evening and although I only have about 30 minutes of play in, it seems pretty good. Nothing earth shattering, but a few of the maps seem pretty cool and some of the new weapons/tools are a pretty neat element as well.
Additionally, I picked up Civilization IV while I was at Circuit City as well.

Ya, I haven't been able to stop playing bf2 special forces since I bought it. It is defiantly allot funner than bf2. I actually played bf2 a couple days ago and well it only lasted one map and I was back in a special forces server .lol...
Well worth the 20 bucks. There are some bugs (whats new) but with future patch's who cares. Hasn't affected me any. Being able to go anywhere, up or down just makes this game.
Man, I wish you guys would get back to playing first person shooters. Team work on this is awesome when you have it.
I've been playing just the BF2 more over the last week or so and have been having alot of fun. I play 99.99% of the time on East Coast Bloodshed server. However, now that I have SF, I'm sure that's what I'll be playing a majority of the time.
I installed Civ IV last night, but I haven't had a chance to even fire it up yet. I played, and loved, CivIII.
Give up on the other guys playing FPS... they have sold themselves and their families soul out to Blizzard. Until they attend the WoW Addiction clinic in STV......

I'm heavy into DoD: Source right now. I'm loving the new map they released for it.
