Yes Palooka...it should run it very well indeed. You won't be at "high" quality settings, but it'll run smooth and things will still look great. I've been impressed with the way the game scales to hardware.

My review posted here at Squidly.com
I got FA3 for PC, and so far, the game is awesome. The whole first chapter is so cleverly done, and it really feels like a Fallout game; it's dripping with atmosphere. Fallout 3's post-apocalyptic world is more believable than that of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which I enjoyed.
Incidentally, I was able to run the game on ultra graphics settings on my two year-old computer (with a Nvidia 7800GTX) while inside the vault, but once outside, it started to chug a bit. However, it's silky-smooth on the high graphics settings. I'm impressed with how well the game runs on older machines.
I agree, I'm enjoying this more than STALKER. I think I'll be playing this through again - there will be enough that I missed the first time through to warrant another run.
I'm in agreement as well. The game runs extremely well on my PC, I did turn AA down from 4 to 2xx on my 1680x1050 resolution.
I had all intentions to sit down and do some iRacing last night, but I sat down and ended up putting in a couple hours of Fallout. Although I would like to trade in my personal robot butler for DOG from Half-Life...
Anyone teamed up with a human or 'dog meat' yet? I'm only approaching level 7 now - so I was curious when that might happen.

Nice job on your review, Squidly.
One item from your review Squid - you mentioned you wanted a pip-boy. According to the folks in the game store, there's some kind of Ultimate pack, which includes a pip-boy wrist thing that actually functions. I'm guessing it's little more than a glorified watch, but something for you to check out.

Yep - it's in the Survival Edition - but it's only a digital clock.

LOL I could use that for the Squid-cave.
I'm level 14, and in no hurry to do the main quest line (although I did move it along accidentally when I stumbled into the area where my Dad was hiding. To it's credit, the game recognized what had happened and moved the quest along correctly.)
I started on "Normal" difficulty, and around level 6 moved it to Very Hard. It's the correct way to play, I think.

How do you holster your weapon?

Hold down the "R" key to holster.
Hold down the tab key to turn on your flashlight.
Here's a 'cheat' for you.
Hit ~ to enter console. Then type "setessential 6a772 1" without the quotes. This will make "Dogmeat" invincible. When he 'dies', he merely is unconscious for a bit.

Man, I wish I had known that one sooner. I ate Dogmeat a few days ago. :-(

I met up with Dog Meat the other night. I am level 6. Found him in the scrapyard north of the Bethesda Ruins. I went there to investigate a note I found that was to Billy from his brother concerning something he hid there. Not sure where I found the note...I think I have had it a while. It wasn't even a real quest. Anyhow, I went to the scrapyard and 2 guys were guarding the south gate. I took them out and went inside. After wandering a bit, I came across Dog Meat and we teamed up. Haven't seen him in action yet, but it is nice to have the company.
Also, I haven't been following the Dad storyline yet. I was planning to do it when I happened to be in the neighborhood I guess...no real plans for a special trip to the radio station.
