If you were a zombie and I had to kill you, I'd feel sad.
I think that Malkin funnied that the cell phone bill for the homeless are being paid for by Acorn.

Also notice "mushroom risotto" on the menu. What, did she bring Wolfgang Puck with her to prep the menu?
If he is homeless where do they send his cell phone bill?

The dude with the cell phone could be a worker or a miscellaneous bystander.
But yeah, the Mushroom Risotto did seem a bit uptown for a homeless shelter.
I guess it's all part of the liberal plan to uplift the disenfranchised. It wouldn't do to have them eating meatloaf and grits.
Next up, a trip to Trader Joes.
The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles.
Okay, a little clarification from the source. The White House Staff donated the food; hence the mushroom risotto and broccoli.
In regards to the cell-phone photo taker... "and in these photos [Mrs. Obama] poses for a picture by one homeless diner obviously excited to be in the first lady's presence.
In all fairness I've volunteered in a soup kitchen and you get all walks of life in there. I've seen the poor, the down and out, the junkies - but I've also seen folks that were well dressed and were just there to take advantage of a free meal.
The food they served was good as well!
I just thought it was funny that the "poor" in our nation have cell phones. Kind of redefines things.

Ok here's a thought, and of course I don't know the situation. However, if I am homeless or living in a shelter and looking for work, one of the essentials on a job application is a phone number. Those prepaid cell phones aren't that expensive and you bet I would have one so that potential employers could call me.
Again I don't know whether the phone was a cheap pre-paid thing or not.
Still, I think our poor have no clue about what it's like to be poor. They have it pretty good. They aren't living in huts made out of dung while flies drink the fluid out of their eyes and their children die of starvation and malaria. Our poor own TV's, have cell phones, and can at any time walk into a modern hospital and receive some of the best care in the world.
The fact that obesity is a very common problem with low income families speaks volumes.

I can tell from the picture that the guy is holding a Blackberry Pearl.. not exactly a cheap "pay as you go" phone.
